I’m Faerl Marie. I’ll be graduating with my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Mexico in May of 2018. I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology with minors in English and Social Welfare. My fiction has appeared in Medical Muse and Centum Press. I was a Writer’s Digest “Dear Lucky Agent” award winner (2016) and a finalist for the Charles Johnson Fiction Award (2016). I’m a regular contributor of the Albuquerque Mom’s Blog.
In addition to my writing, I have many years of experience in the biomedical and social behavioral research industry as an IRB analyst for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. I’m a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) and ICH-GCP and CITI certified. I received the UNMHSC Office of Research Staff Merit Award in 2016 and 2017. This expertise and knowledge has given me the opportunity to work on technical and professional projects.
I love working with creative teams to bring a project from conception to completion and have seen my words published and recorded for voice over. I feel my greatest work in progress will always be my own creative depths–I never know the extent of my capability until I’m faced with a new challenge or asked to dive in with another amazing team whose fresh perspective draws new facets of creativity from me.
Along with my writing work, I am focused on my husband and daughter. We live in the mountains east of Albuquerque and delight in the serenity of our home. Thank you for considering my work.
